LEGISLATION
If, when the case is called, the defendant is present, but the complainant, having had
due notice of the time and place of hearing, which fact has been proved to the
satisfaction of the Court, fails to appear in person or by counsel, the Court shall dismiss
the complaint, unless the Court, having received a reasonable excuse for the non-
appearance of the complainant, or for other sufficient cause, thinks fit to adjourn the
hearing of the case to such future date, and on such terms as the Court may think just.
