Authority to Prosecute
• Generally, the provisions state:
“Any officer or other person authorised by the Comptroller,
although not an attorney-at-law, may prosecute and conduct
any information or other proceedings under any customs
enactment in respect of any offence or penalty.”
“Any proceedings before a Magistrate’s Court in relation to an
assigned matter may be conducted by an officer or any other
person authorised in that behalf by the Comptroller.”
