CHECKLIST








            1. Decision to adjourn is within the discretion of the Magistrate. Court



                    of Appeal will only interfere if Magistrate is plainly wrong.




            2. Pay great attention to the need for expedition in the prosecution of



                    criminal proceedings.





            3. When adjournment sought by the prosecution Magistrate must



                    consider the interest of defendant and interest of the public.




            4. Where adjournment sought by defendant Magistrate must consider



                    whether if not granted, he will be able to fully pursue his defence.
