Pull the right side of

from above, downwards;
at the same time pull
through loop B from
below, upwards.

Adjust the size of the
loops required – this will
depend on the size of the
person to be rescued –

and tighten the knot.

To lock loop A, tie a half
hitch making sure its
standing part is around
loop B.
