TEAM OVERVIEW
After a great turnout at the 2018 trials, the South Australian coaches have only selected eight players from last year’s carnival. For three players, Braden Dunstan and brother’s Keenan and Zachary Georg-Dent, it will
be their first time at the AFL National Inclusion Carnival. There are also
a number of players who have been recalled after missing out last year, including Andrew Doecke who had to withdraw a week prior to the 2017 Carnival due to injury.
There is a strong basketball influence in the team with a handful
of players that have represented SA at the Ivor Burge Basketball Championships. The coaches are excited to see what skills the crossover of sports will bring to the team. Last year the SA team tasted success winning Pool B, however this year the team is striving to climb up into Pool A and take on the best players in the country.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Rhys Baker
Rhys Baker returns to the Carnival in 2018 and would be one of the fittest players in the SA team. He will be running all day and has significantly improved his skills playing for Goodwood Saints FC in the local footy competition.

After All-Australian selection in 2016, Luke Goodman missed out on playing at the Gold Coast in 2017 due to his selection in the Australian Cricket
ID team that travelled to England. It will be great to see him link up again with his twin brother and captain of the SA team Jesse Goodman.
