(“West”); student of Victor Rocine; focus on nutrition and head of cancer research; director of Spaulding General Hospital in Portland, OR, 1936; In 1939, the hospital became Dr. Verbon’s Naturopathic Hospital.
Nature cure introduced to India with the translation and popularization of Louis Kuhne’s works into Telugu by Shri D. Venkatachalpaty Sharma. ••
Nature Cure. (Johann Heinrich Lahmann, MD). Considered first scientific treatise on the subject.

College of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery of the Kansas City University founded in Kansas City, MO; 1900, renamed Hahnemann Medical College of the Kansas City University; 1902, merged with Kansas City Homeopathic Medical College to form Kansas City Hahnemann Medical College.
D.D. Palmer incorporates Palmer’s School of Magnetic Cure at his magnetic healing infirmary in Davenport, IA; 1897, would become Palmer School (later College) of Chiropractic. Also publishes The Magnetic Cure. ••

Herbert M. Shelton, ND (d. 1985) Developer, champion of food combining, raw foods, vegetarianism, fasting, and other natural
hygiene therapies. Active pacifist and nominee
of the American Vegetarian Party to run as its candidate for President of the United States in 1956. Authored many books, including ‘laws’ and principles of natural hygiene - The Hygienic System, Vol. I-IV (1934-1939) and Natural Hygiene: Man’s Pristine Way of Life (1968). Practiced primarily in San Antonio, TX. ••
