David Schleich, PhD, becomes president of
NCNM, until 2019. Visionary, passionate leader
in professional formation, medical history, higher education, expansion of naturopathic schools,
and recognizing value of naturopathic principles. Articulate champion of naturopathic medicine,
Dr. Schleich is also known for effective, inspiring, robust advocacy, body of scholarship on behalf of the profession. Orchestrates major expansion of NUNM campus infrastructure, including expanded campus ownership, twelve new academic programs, five institutes, and robust CE curriculum, while overseeing transition to university,
renaming to National University of Natural Medicine. Oversees inclusion of NUNM in AIHM interprofessional Integrative Medicine Fellowships as training site through NUNM’s membership in the Oregon Collaborative for Integrative Medicine (OCIM). XX
Michelle Simon, ND, PhD, appointed to Washington State Health Technology Clinical Committee, part of the Health Technology Assessment Program; examines evidentiary basis for efficacy, safety, and cost effectiveness of health care and medical technologies. Committee conclusions guide State Medicaid Coverage. First ND appointed. Term until 2016.
