“Naturopathic conflict resolution expert Dr. Rick Kirschner’” makes national news when Ashland City Council hires him to conduct training and coaching sessions designed to increase their leadership effectiveness. Word of this project in the national news includes a mention of naturopathic medicine on Keith Olbermann’s Countdown, in which Mr. Olbermann names Dr. Kirschner the “Second Best Person In The World.” Recognized as one of earliest mentions of the profession in the national media in the modern era. SCNM begins association with World Addiction and Health Institute (WAHI). XX
GLOBAL HEALTH PARTICIPATION
CAND and CCNM participate in WHO consultations on guidelines for the selection of substances for quality control and safety of homeopathic and herbal medicines and global strategy and plan of action on public health, innovation, and intellectual property.
Naturopaths International, founded by SCNM student Brandie Gowey, ND candidate, provides free medical care and education in naturopathic medicine for patients in shelters, domestically and internationally.

ACADEMIC: INSTITUTIONS AND COUNCILS
Dr. Gerald Farnsworth, DC, ND, visits NUHS in Lombard, IL; mentors early ND program students. This closes a historical loop as Dr. Farnsworth was the last graduate of the antecedent National College of Drugless Physicians which ceased granting ND degrees in 1952. XXX
