Overhand
The overhand is a very simple stopper knot that has hundreds of applications. It forms the basis
for many other knots in this book. Once it is under strain, it is comparatively difficult to untie.
Take the end of the line in your hand and form a loop (1). Then pass the end beneath and through
the loop (2). Pull on both ends of the line to tighten the knot (3, 4).
