Irma Lee Taylor-McClanahan was born on July 3, 1928 to the late Eligah and

Powder Springs Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Irma received her early education at the New Baptist School. She later attended
the Delta Vocational School obtaining certification as a Nurse’s Aide.

Growing up in a God fearing home, she accepted Christ as her Savior at an early
age uniting with the New Baptist Church under the leadership of the late
Reverend C. H. Nash. After moving to Bastrop, she united with the New Morning
Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend I. J.

honored as a member under Dr. George Glass, Jr. and Reverend Eddie Douzart, III.
She served as a member of the Choir, Young Sisters, Pastor’s Aide, Kitchen
Committee, a Bible Study student, and served as a Mother of the Church.
Due to health challenges she relocated to Georgia in 2008 with her daughter Dr.
Sharon Simmons, under the watch care of Green Pastures Christian Ministries.
She was always willing whatever she could, to assist in the advancing of the
     Kingdom of God.

Irma was married to the late Alonzo Mays and they were the proud parents of
two daughters, Willie B. and Maggie. She later married the late Clarence
McClanahan and they were the parents of Roderick and Sharon.

Irma leaves to cherish loving memories: two loving daughters, Maggie Lee
