Motion: A motion was made to accept the 2020 Budget as presented.
It was seconded.
The floor was open for discussion.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
• Bart noted that our revenue is not keeping up with our basic expenses. Pledge units are
dramatically lower than they were just 8 or 9 years ago, going from around 200 to 135 this
year. Pledge dollars haven’t gone down as much because current donors are giving more.
This can’t go on forever. The majority of our large donors are older and some will
undoubtedly move away or otherwise not be able to continue in the church’s life. We need to
reverse this trend if we are to maintain the programs that our members want.
COMMITTEE REPORTS (Andy Meyer):
Motion: A motion was made to accept and approve all of the Reports as presented in the 2019
Annual Report.
It was seconded.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
MEMORIAL & ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE PRESENTATION (Chuckie Blaney)
• Chuckie read a tribute to Bob Marlette, who is retiring from the M&E committee after 27 years
of service, most of that as Treasurer. She presented a gift to Bob’s wife Marilyn in his absence.
NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS (Andy Meyer):
• Andy referred to the slate of Officers and Committee Members in the 2019 Annual Report. He
noted that we are very lucky to have so many talented, committed volunteers here at Pilgrim
Church and expressed his gratitude for each and every person who has served and/or will be
serving.
Motion: A motion was made to approve the nomination and election of Officers and
Committee/Ministry candidates as presented in the 2019 Annual Report roster.
It was seconded.
Amended Motion: A motion was made to add Eric Dragsbaek to the Slate as a Deacon with a term
expiring in 2023.
It was seconded.
Vote on Amendment: The amendment passed unanimously.

INSTALLATION OF NEW OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS (Pastor John Hudson)
• Pastor John led us in a prayer of dedication.
OTHER BUSINESS:
REPORT OF THE 2020 COMITTEE (Matt Beaudet and Kirk Dragsbaek)
• The vision of the 2020 committee was to build upon the core values and strong foundation of
Pilgrim Church to create a sustainable model to live and spread the message of Jesus Christ for
the next decade.
• We have a strong foundation, with five core values: Welcome, Worship, Service, Community
and Christion Education. However, there are growing cracks in that foundation: Societal
secularization, the slow decline in worship/CE attendance, an aging congregation and a
decrease in the number and dollar amount of pledges.
• The committee report suggested that three cultural shifts were necessary:
