installed his father W Bro. T. V. N. Viswanathan in the Eastern Chair and created a record of the son installing his father as for as this lodge is concerned. But unfortunately, W Bro. Viswanathan passed away before the next installation meeting. So R W Bro. V. Sarangapani, the Deputy RGM in charge occupied the Eastern Chair and installed W Bro. K. R. Kothandaraman as WM.
On 09-08-1991 the meeting of the lodge was held at the Free Mason’s Hall, Bangalore. Brethren from the Bangalore Masonic Study
circle occupied the various offices and demonstrated the ceremony of initiation. W Bro. U.S. Rajaram who was reelected as treasurer expressed his unwillingness to hold any office in the lodge on 28-1-1992. As the summons and agenda for the installation meeting were already circulated to the members, the item about election of a new treasurer could not be printed in the summons. On 23-02-1992 at the installation meeting W Bro. S. B. S. Raman was elected as officiating treasurer for that year. He was elected as the treasurer regularly at the meeting held on 01-06-1992 in which position he continued till 1998.
On 05-06-1993 a record number of 33 joining members were admitted to the lodge. On 27-8-1993 in a felicitation meeting to R W Bro. V. Rajendran OSM, the RGM attended the meeting, and he was praised for his services and his untiring efforts to bring out the Madras Masonic Journal and also for his help and support in the functioning of the lodge. R W Bro. Rajendran presented a paper titled ‘The Hidden Mysteries of nature and science’ At the meeting of the lodge held in the Freemasons Hall, Cantonment, Tiruchirappalli on 13-08-1996 a team lead by W Bro. Arun Chintopanth demonstrated the ceremony of initiation. W Bro. Arun Chintopanth later became the Regional
Grand Master of Southern India and the Grand Master of India. Another demonstration of the second-degree ceremony was performed by the brethren of Tirunelveli, Courtallam, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari lodges on 03-12-1994 at the Masonic temple, Race Course Road, Coimbatore. Again on 01-06-1995 a first- degree ceremony was conducted at the Masonic Hall Bangalore by W. Bro. V. G. Madhusudan and his team.
The Platinum Jubilee of the Lodge which fell in the year in 1998 could not be held at that time due to various reasons. It was held in a very small manner on 25-08-2000 when
W. Bro. O. S. Kasiviswanathan was W. Master and notwithstanding several constraints he saw to it that the function was conducted in a fitting manner. R W Bro. ArunChintopanth, the RGM attended and unveiled the new lodge banner to replace the worn out old one. The celebrations were held at the Vivekananda Masonic Charitable Trust Hall at Kanyakumari. The Grand Master could not attend due to other prior commitments. The platinum jubilee number of the Madras Masonic journal was released. The Diamond Jubilee Trophy for the best installing officer which was not presented for a few years was revived and was presented to W Bro. Srinivasan Nandagopal of Lodge University No.146.
A symposium was organized by the various Masters Lodges in the region on 07-09-2002 at the Police Bhavan, Mysore which was led by the Madras Masters Lodge. This was the first time that such a symposium was held and the topic of the same was ‘Freemasonry-A better way of life’. M W Bro. G. R. Diwan, the Grand Master attended the meeting and delivered the key note address.
