Masters were present on the occasions, and it was most helpful to them to meet the competition confidently. W Bro. Bharat Epur assisted by his regular officers demonstrated the ceremony with pauses at regular intervals to provide opportunity to the brethren to clarify their doubts. R W Bro. S. Ramasamy and R W Bro. V. G. Madhusudan who were the preceptors of the lodge for the current year answered and explained the various questions and doubts of the brethren. On 05-06-2010 another demonstration of the same kind was held at Tenkasi and Masters and brethren from Tenkasi, Madurai, Palayamkottai, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari and Trichy benefitted from the demonstration.
On 24-02-2011 in a joint meeting of all the lodges in the Chennai area R. W. Bro. R. Sushil Raj, the newly installed RGM was felicitated.
The jewels in the crown of this lodge were two international inter-lodge visits between our Lodge and Unity Lodge No. 9 under the Grand Lodge of Mauritius. About 30 masons visited Mauritius in the month of March, 2010 and on 11-03-2010 demonstrated the ceremony of raising at the Freemasons’ Hall, Phoenix. Delegations from Grand Lodge of India led by M. W. Bro. Dr. B. Biswakumar, Grand Lodge of Western Australia, Grande Loge de Madagascar, Grande Loge Nationale de Francais, Grande loge de Mozambique, and Grand Lodge of South Africa attended the meeting. On the same day Unity Lodge demonstrated a ceremony of installation as per the ancient and accepted Scottish Rite. Our brethren also attended the Annual Meeting of the Grand Lodge of Mauritius held on 13-03-2010. On the invitation of the Madras Masters Lodge a team of brethren from Mauritius visited Chennai on 11-12-2010 and conducted the ceremony of initiation for
their candidate from Mauritius as per the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
On 01-06-2016 a candidate initiated and passed in Lodge Ramaprasad was raised in our lodge. The officers who conducted the ceremony were the best master of the region for the year 2015 as the WM, the second-best master as the SW, the best master of Bangalore area for the year 2014 as JW, best senior deacon for the year 2015 as SD, and best master of Chennai area for the year 2015 as IG.
At a meeting held on 04-06-2017 a paper “Quo Vadis or whither directing our course” was presented by R. W. Bro. C. S. Madhavan. On 09-12-2017 another paper “The evolution of the WM’s installation ceremony and ritual” was presented by W Bro. Dr. Jyothindra Kumar. A sum of Rs 25,000 was given to Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India towards relief to the victims of Ockhi cyclone.
At the meeting held on 09-06-2018 W. Bro. Sriramkumar, belonging to the English Constitution, Past Master of John Miller Lodge No. 1906 (EC) occupied the Eastern Chair and demonstrated the inner working of the extended version of the installation of the WM. On 13-12-2018, 25 years long term service jewels were presented.
On 14-02-2020 R. W. Bro. V. G. Madhusudan was installed as WM. No regular meetings could be held because of the onset of the pandemic and on 04-10-2020, the first ever virtual meeting of the Lodge was held. In this virtual meeting where 35 brethren were present, election for a member to the GrandBoard was also held. R W Bro. V. G. Madhusudan was re-elected as WM of the Lodge for the masonic years 2021-22 and 2022-23 also and he reappointed all the officers. He has the honour of being the only WM of the Lodge
