Mohit Malhotra has been appointed as Managing Director
Godrej Origins and CEO of Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) with effect from 1st
April 2017. Mohit joined Godrej Properties in 2010 and has been
instrumental in the company’s growth since then. He first headed
business development for the company and has since taken on larger
leadership responsibilities that currently include heading GPL’s pan-
India operations. Mohit was appointed to GPL’s Board of Directors as
an Executive Director in 2015.
The New Year has started so what are your plans for this year?
What are the initiatives we can see in 2018?
2017 was clearly a year of reforms for real estate and we feel 2018 will be
the year of consolidation and provide abundant growth opportunities for the
real estate sector. Some important changes that can be expected are,
n Large-scale consolidation in the sector
n Adoption of new business models – more joint venture (JV) and joint
development (JD) will be seen
n There will be increased contribution to sustainable development
n Investment opportunities for small investors will be available in the form
of REITs
n We will see faster adoption of modern construction techniques and
technologies - thereby leading to timely completion of projects.
