How do you see the impact of current changes
on Indian real-estate from a buyer as well as
developer perspective?
The Indian real estate market has witnessed a significant
change in the past year due to various government initiatives
like RERA, GST etc. These as well as the proposed boosts given
for affordable housing like interest subsidies for customers,
tax benefits for developers who construct affordable housing
etc, will lead to positive growth for the real estate sector
as a whole. From a customer’s point of view as well, these
policy changes have brought a lot of transparency into the
system making them more comfortable. With RERA in place
the confidence of customers will further increase in investing
in under construction projects which in turn should have a
positive impact on sales. Established developers who have
been following the norms will now come to the forefront
once again and this will be beneficial to both the customers
as well as those developers.
