   Dunstan Smith, Karnataka
After battling a brief illness, Dunstan Smith passed away on 23 June 2019. Mr Smith was a stalwart of the community in Karnataka and former President of the Hospet branch; he was also a former Governing Body Member of The All-India Anglo-Indian Association from Karnataka.
Dunstan was born in Kolar Gold Fields in 1945. He was an educational administrator who managed schools in Hospet. He was a leading light in the foundation of the Goa branch of the Association. As long as he was healthy, he rarely missed an All- India AGM. He had an out-of-the-ordinary sense of humour who valued friends and friendship.
We remember his family in our prayers. He was a loving family man and a grassroot social worker, who always had the with the interest of the community at heart. Simple to the core, at AGMs he preferred to stay with his friends in the dormitory even after he became a Governing Body Member. That’s how simple he was! Rest in peace, good man!
Gerard Alweyn
We have lost a stalwart—the multi-faceted Gerard Alweyn passed away in Coimbatore. A regular at AGMs, he was a prolific and passionate writer of articles, poems and songs. I remember he was the first to win The Review Star Award for his contribution to our national magazine. He will be missed by one and all—so will his writings and thoughts. His family is in our prayers.
Barry O’Brien President-in-Chief The All-India Anglo-Indian Association
Lionel D’Monte
Lionel D’Monte of the Cochin branch passed away on 03 June 2019 at the age of 93. He served the Association for many years and attended numerous AGMs. He was the President of the Calicut branch till
he shifted residence to Cochin. Father of seven children, widowed very early, he was a great father and mother rolled into one. He was an ‘A’-grade loco Pilot at the Southern Railway. His daughter, Coral Godinho, is one of the stalwarts of the Cochin branch. We place on record our deep sense of sorrow at his demise and pray for the family.
Dr Oscar Nigli Vice President The All-India Anglo-Indian Association
     Vincent DeLima
Vincent DeLima, born in Mumbai and a member of the Goa branch since 2016, passed away on 24 June 2019, a day after his 72nd birthday.
Vincent’s presence at the branch events will be sorely missed. A good mixer, he made efforts to make friends with other members, and was always seen on the dance floor. The branch sends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
