Caleesi is an elegant and balanced filly with a kind engaging personality. She shows a lot of potential for either the hunter or jumper rings. Seller will include delivery to BC and Alberta.
Sire: Her sire Contifax is a Contender son from a Ramiro damline, combining two outstanding performance lines. Contifax came to North America from a long, well-respected career in Sport following several first place tests for young jump- ers which led him to compete all the way up to the World Cup level. Contender, the son of Calypso II, is one of the most frequented studs of the Holsteiner Association. At the 2006 Holsteiner approvals, Contender was completely con- vincing with five approved sons. Ritual comes for the famous 776 mare line,
to which Ramiro, a sire of the century, belongs. Ritual is one of the very few Hanoverian stallions ever licensed for breeding by the Holsteiner Verband.
Dam: Caleesi’s dam was by Barricello, an Oldenburg stallion by Balou du Rouet. Barricello was imported as a 2-year-old and was used as a breeding stallion for 2 years. Once gelded he showed up to the 1.20m. He remains with us today and always, we are much too in love with his quirky personality to ever let him go. His sire, Balou du Rouet, silver medalist of 2005, is one of the best German hors- es of his age group. Equipped with maximum elasticity in his gaits, he completed an excellent Stallion Performance Test and was awarded with the top marks of 9.5 and 10.0 for jumping by the ‘foreign’ judges. Sire Baloubet du Rouet, currently one of the most successful jumping stallions on the international stage (individual gold medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, three-times World Cup Champion in a row, winner of many Grand Prix’s), has an exceptional pedigree. Grand sire Galoubet is son of the great stallion Almé. Barricello’s dam goes back to Landgraf I. Landgraf I has been described, along with another of Ladykiller’s stallion sons, Lord, as being “one of the two great jewels in the crown of mod- ern Holsteiner breeding”. His name appears in the pedigrees of an enormous number of successful modern-day showjumpers.
