TWIN BOWLINE BEND
Purpose
A neat way to join two large ropes or cables—or indeed smaller cordage—so
that they may readily be untied after use, is to link a couple of bowlines in this
way.
Tying
Lay the two working ends alongside one another, parallel and pointing in
opposite directions. Make a loop in one standing part and tuck the working end
of the other line to complete the knot. Do the same with the other end. Ensure
that both knots are adjusted so that any load falls equally on both legs of line
between the two knots.
