It is also important that the post heat treatment
starts as soon as possible after finished cutting

operation. Apply maximum 60 minutes between the
start of the cutting operation and the start of the
postheating operation.
The heat from the torch will temper the re-quenched
zone of the HAZ which will reduce the tensile
stresses at the cut edge.
The torch used should have a rather big flame with
low intensity. Preferably a heating nozzle can be
used. Such nozzle allows the heat to reach further in
to the material without overheating the material. A
normal cutting torch has normally a too small and
hot flame.
