 Teresa Piles-Horton Teresa Piles-Horton is from Hughes, Arkansas and currently resides in Suffolk, VA. Teresa has 3 adult children: Taiwan, John-Tevin, and Deja along with two grandsons: John-Tevin, Jr. and Kingston with one granddaughter, KyLee. Teresa enjoys spending time with family, and attending John-Tevin, Jr.’s sporting events. She thrives through arduous community service and is a variant among organizations. Teresa is an active member of several professional organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Chi Eta Phi, Nursing Sorority, Inc., Virginia Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, International Honour Society of Nursing, Nursing Career and Pathways, Inc., Black Nurse's Rock, The Black Nurse Practitioner Network, and the Order of Eastern Star, where she has held various positions. She works at Joint Base Langley – Eustis in Hampton, VA, where she is a member of the Evidence Base Practice Council and Women’s Bible Study Group as well as the Air Force Sergeant’s Association, which she surpassingly employs frequent moral and physical support to the veterans at Hampton Veteran’s Administration. Teresa works as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Dominion Patient Care Services after hour’s clinic in Newport News. She is dual board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Nurse Credentialing Center. Currently, she is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She began her career in Healthcare as a Medical Assistant in 1991, in Memphis Tennessee. She began Nursing in May 2003 as a Registered Nurse in Norfolk, Virginia and is currently a Family Nurse Practitioner in Newport News, Virginia. Her experience includes Cardiology Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Family Practice, Urgent Care and ER/Fast Track. Teresa is qualified to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of conditions unbiased to any age range. Teresa is an active member of The Way of the Cross Church under the leadership of Pastor Chris Hines, Jr. located at 2800 Chesapeake Blvd., Norfolk. As Teresa prepares for a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, she is passionate about maintaining healthy communities through preventative care and education. She believes this is best accomplished by establishing trusting relationships with patients, ensuring they understand their health limits and demands to keep each and every patient consistently in their best medical state.
