Stephanie Pough Stephanie J. Pough is a native of Rochester, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. She was admitted to the Virginia State Bar after receiving her Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2006. In 2009, Ms. Pough was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Ms. Pough has previously held positions as Staff Attorney for Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, Assistant Public Defender for the City of Norfolk, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Portsmouth, and a private practitioner in a local firm and her own firm. Presently, Ms. Pough is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Suffolk. She is responsible for handling matters on behalf of the Department of Social Services, the Fire Department, and the Police Department. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Pough has represented clients in the areas of child welfare law, criminal law, family law, personal injury, and handled a variety of matters of civil law. She is litigator having tried numerous bench and jury trials in Virginia courts, and has argued cases before the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Pough works as an Adjunct Professor for Tidewater Community College. She has previously served as the President for the Tidewater Alumni Chapter for North Carolina A&T State University. Ms. Pough is currently the Treasurer of the E3 Community Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to educating and empowering the community. She is a member of Ivy Baptist Church in Newport News. Ms. Pough enjoys working with the youth, elderly, and ultimately giving back to those who need it most.
