SECTION 5: HEALTH AND SAFETY

               5.1 HEALTH AND SAFETY
DIFC places great emphasis on safety, health and welfare matters and undertakes to carry out its
business in such a way as to ensure the safety, health and welfare of all its employees, contractors,
visitors and the general public in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regulations 2007.

               5.2 SAFETY STATEMENT
Information on all policies and procedures related to health and safety at DIFC are detailed in the
Safety Statement, a copy of which is available to all employees at all times.

5.3 EYESIGHT TESTS FOR USERS OF DISPLAY SCREEN EQUIPMENT

               In order to comply with its obligations under the Display Screen Equipment Regulations, DIFC will;
               1. Pay for the cost of an eyesight test with an optician. We request that you determine the cost of
the consultation with your optician and that you come to us to seek approval for the cost in
advance of proceeding with the appointment.
               2. Where the eyesight test confirms that a particular lens is required to work on a computer display
screen, DIFC will contribute a maximum of €100 towards the cost of the required lenses and
frames. Costs over and above this level must be borne by the employee themselves,
               3. Where lenses are deemed to be required for uses other than working at a VDU, then the
company will not contribute to the cost of the spectacles.
               4. The above eyesight test and contribution to lenses and frames will be provided every three years
                   to affected employees.

               5.4 PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
DIFC Ireland will provide full or part-time employees with personal accident insurance cover, with the
premiums paid for by the company.

A schedule of cover will be available to each employee after the renewal of the policy in each year.

The policy will be incepted each year on January 1st and new employees will be eligible for inclusion
on this insurance cover upon commencement of their employment with DIFC.

If in the opinion of DIFC, the cost of providing cover becomes unduly expensive, DIFC reserve the right
to cancel cover at the next policy renewal date.
