P. 18

Employees should inform the company four weeks before the end of the Carer’s Leave of
their intention to return to work. As far as is reasonable practical, the company will facilitate
the employee returning to the job they held before the commencement of the Leave.

                          JURY SERVICE

Employees who are called for Jury Service are entitled to paid time off to fulfil their legal
obligations under the Juries Act 1976 and full employment rights continue to apply. The
employee must immediately show their manager their jury summons from the Department of
Justice, so that as much notice of the absence as possible is given to the company.
Employees must also provide a certificate of attendance at jury service for each day of
absence, which can be obtained from the Court clerk.

It is expected that employees will return to work during any portion of the day not spent on
jury duty. If an employee is excused from service, he/she must return to work immediately.
Any loss of earning payment received by the State for jury service should be notified to the
company and this will be deducted for the employee’s pay.

Should the requirements of the company at the time be such as to deem it inappropriate for
certain employees to be absent from work, the company will undertake to provide written
justification to the Department of Justice should a postponement of Jury Service be sought.

               N) COMPASSIONATE LEAVE

Employees will be granted special leave with pay in the event of the death of a family
member, subject to management discretion and approval. The following guidelines apply:

In the case of an immediate relative, such as father, mother, brother, sister, spouse/partner,
child, up to three (3) days compassionate leave with full pay will be granted.

For other close relatives, namely uncle, aunt, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law,
sister-in-law, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, grandchild, one (1) day will be given.

The company will review each case and may provide additional days at the discretion of the
                       management.

               O) TIME OFF IN LIEU

Your Supervisor/Manager must approve any request for time off in lieu to be worked and/or
when it is to be taken. All staff are required to keep an accurate record of their hours worked.

               P) TIME OFF

Circumstances may arise where you need time off for medical/dental appointments, or for other
reasons. Where possible, such appointments should be made outside normal working hours.
If this is not possible, time off required for these purposes may be granted at the discretion of
your Supervisor/Manager and will normally be without pay.
