En joaillerie, la création d’un bijou est une œuvre collective dont le croquis est le premier pas. Le gouaché est un dessin technique qui guidera toutes les « mains » qui participeront à la création du bijou: maquettistes, joailliers, sertisseurs, polisseurs, tous s’y réfèrent à chaque étape. Il préfigure le bijou en volume et en couleurs.

In jewellery making, creating a piece of jewellery is a collective process, and the first step on that journey is the design sketch. A gouache is a technical drawing which will guide all those "hands" participating in the creation, from model makers and jewellers, to those at the crimping and polishing stages. At each step, they all refer to the drawing. It indicates the
size and the colours of the piece.
