                                                          HAPPY NEW YEAR

The year 2022 was a year of much uncertainty regarding where the economy is headed. It has also been a
year of recovery, and a year of – finally – returning to in-person get-togethers. It is clear from our
networking sessions this year that our members are very enthusiastic about returning to live events and
meeting new people. That is what the Madoc & District Chamber of Commerce is all about. We bring our
members together so they can mentor each other, partner with each other, and make Central Hastings
business community a better place. Membership in the Chamber also provides you with tools that can
assist a business during the good times – and times of uncertainty. When we are united, we are stronger.
We are an organization with purpose and we all share a direct interest in strengthening the value of our Chamber and its
members. We recognize that 2023 will offer an opportunity to expand our thinking and explore new ways that we can
continue to contribute to the success of our members.
Two of our biggest in-person events in 2023 will be our Connect 4 Success Expo & Job Fair and our Business Excellence
Awards. These events will display the advantages of operating a business in Central Hastings – and explore opportunities
that can assist businesses in the long-term. These events will also feature networking and opportunities where members
can promote their goods and services. Plus, since these are interactive events, your voice will be heard and you will help
craft the Chamber’s agenda to help make Central Hastings (Centre Hastings, Township of Madoc or Marmora) a better
place to run a business and a better place to live.
We look forward to working with our members, the Chamber network, and our community to extend our vision beyond
today to find new ways to serve. Join us on this journey, as we re-imagine ourselves so we can better serve our members
and all Canadians in the years ahead.
