TOWNSHIP OF MADOC'S NEW FIRE HALL GRAND OPENING
On Saturday August 20, 2022, Madoc Township’s Fire Department, Council, Staff and community members celebrated the
grand opening of their brand-new Fire Hall. Surrounded by great supporters from not just our community but many of the
surrounding communities as well. Many kind and encouraging words were shared by all levels of government including, MP
Shelby Kramp – Neuman, MP Ric Breese, Former MPP Daryl Kramp, Warden Rick Phillips, Mayor Loyde Blackburn, Mayor Libby
Clark, Deputy-Mayor Larry Rollins, Fire Chief Jason Gear and Deputy Fire Chief Rick Caddick of Quinte West. Grant Ketcheson
shared some great history about how Madoc Township’s Fire Department started outdating back to the 1930’s.
Through the words of our leaders “One year ago we were standing here in an empty lot about to embark on a journey to build a
new Fire Hall. Through an endless amount of hard work and dedication by so many people we stand here today in front of this
amazing building that will serve not just the Madoc Township Community but our surrounding communities for years to
come.”
This giant task would not have been possible without the
contributions from many of our local businesses and residents as
well as all of the fundraising event supporters who traveled from
all over Ontario to take part. Together over $150,000 has been
raised in donations, ticket sales and in-kind contributions.
