MEETING THE PARANORMAL
Parapsychology (sometimes called psi) is the study of the super-normal powers of the human mind, particularly the studies of
precognitive powers
Then, one day, there was an unexpected encounter with the Paranormal - that made me thoughtful. It was one Midday that I went to lunch with Desmond Flynn of Rowbothams. After the meal Des told me that his wife Daphne was a somewhat famous medium and that she was consulted by many well-known personalities - she had precognitive abilities looking back in the past as well as into the future.
That woke my intense interest. I remembered the many discussions, I had on the subject with Jermias in Zurich - evolving around Quantum Physics about time: that time as a linear development into the future is simply an illusion made up of human memories and observations caught in the third dimension, but rather than that everything that has ever been and ever will be is happening RIGHT NOW.
No phantasy but a theory according to a group of esteemed physicists who aim to solve one of the universe’s mysteries - the term of "space time" springing to mind.
The theory, which is backed up Einstein’s theory of relativity, states that space and time are part of a four dimensional structure where everything thing that has happened has its own co-ordinates in spacetime. This would allow everything to be ‘real’ in the sense that the past, and even the future, are still there in spacetime – making everything equally important as the present. Thoughts that had a great attraction for me as following from that I was convinced that this was the explanation of the Paranormal and precognitive abilities.
So, I asked if there was a chance that I could meet her.
"Sure"
Des said and invited me for the next evening to his home in Fulham. Daphne his wife, was a tall, imposing woman, she radiated tranquillity and calm.
"So, you are Harry and Des told me, that you are interested in what I do, Des told me"
She said in a dar voice.
