I was blessed with the unique opportunity of being a part of HLA from the very beginning. Seeing HLA drawn on a piece of paper back when it was little more than a vision and watching it grow and develop into such an incredible ministry serving thousands of homeschoolers across the globe has been simply amazing.
God has brought the most amazing people to work here at HLA. Our counselors bring an incredible amount of experience, expertise and a genuine passion for homeschooling and for HLA. HLA is a constantly forward thinking company that continually looks for ways to meet the needs of the homeschooling community. This forward thinking combined with an amazing staff has set HLA apart from the crowd.
Here at HLA, we are all about FREEDOM AND FLEXIBILITY. Freedom for homeschooling families and freedom for staff. Free to be what God created us to be and to do what God calls us to do. This is why I love HLA. I am free to be me. I am free to pursue those things that I have a true passion for. We always want to get the right person in the right seat on the bus. This is all about passions and talents. HLA is a fun laid back place to work with people who encourage, support and genuinely care about one another. We are one big family. A sense of humor and ability to understand sarcasm is a must.
Let me personally welcome you to HLA! The most wonderful place to work in the world. I have been with HLA since 2011 offering my services to help get the new Jackson Administrative offices set-up. That quickly led to a part-time job, to a full-time job, and on to leadership within this wonderful homeschool organization. There are so many amazing things about being involved in a company like HLA:

My policy as a leader is that I am here to serve not be served...to serve the staff, our families and our homeschooling community. One of my greatest joys at HLA is meeting the needs of our staff. We have an incredible group of people that surround me every day with laughter, encouragement, and friendship. I find working for them and making their jobs easier fulfills me. Family comes first and the freedom and flexibility that HLA offers our families flows through to our staff. That, in conjunction with the awesome opportunity to work around those of like faith who pray and support each other make HLA the best. I am thrilled to have you become part of our HLA family!

This all started with a piece of paper with scribbles on it. I remember so many of David’s sleepless nights when he would come in and wake me with a new idea of how we could make the piece of paper a reality. When the scribbles came to life and as we added more staff members, I knew we had begun something incredible, something that the Lord wanted to use for His purposes. But even in my wildest dreams, I could not envision where we are today nor where we can be in the next few years.
HomeLife Academy is more than the sum of its parts. We are more than staff and co- workers and team leaders. We are more than an umbrella school, more than transcripts & diplomas, and more than online grade reporting. We are more than counselors, records staff, and administration. WE ARE FAMILY....but more importantly, we are co-laborers in the work of the Kingdom of the Lord.
Lives will forever be changed by the work you do at HLA on a daily basis. Sometimes the evidence will be apparent; other times you will not see the fruit of your labors until much later. But in the end, it’s all for His glory & purposes. Thank you for being a part of our family. Thank you for choosing to co-labor with us in this great work in the Kingdom.
