Leadership Jefferson Class XIII
The Leadership Jefferson Class had their local government module in
April. They were joined with Katlin Thorsell’s Leadership Class from
Washington High School. The day started at Charles Town City Hall
with Keith McIntosh, Senator Manchin’s Office and Matt Pennington,
Eastern Panhandle Regional Planning & Development Council. After
a walking tour to the court house, the class met with County
officials: Matt Harvey, County Prosecutor; Laura Storm, Circuit Clerk;
and Jacki Shadle, County Clerk. The class attended a moderated
round table with the County Commission and Municipalities. In the
afternoon, the class traveled to the Emergency Communications
facility for a tour with director Jeff Polycynski. The day wrapped up
at the Sheriff’s office with a tour with Sheriff Pete Dougherty, a
K9Unit review with Sergeant Brandon Conway, and police
discussion with Chief Deputy Ronald Fletcher.
