                         WVU Medicine 2019 Bob Baronner
                                        Apple Trample 5k




                WVU Medicine East and The Wellness Center at Berkeley Medical Center, in conjunction with the
                Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival committee, will host the annual 2019 Bob Baronner Apple
                Trample 5K on Oct. 19.

                The USATF certified course follows a gently rolling terrain through downtown Martinsburg and
                finishes on the track at Martinsburg High School’s Cobourn Field with spectators in the stands.

                Proceeds from the annual 5K event will benefit the WVU Cancer Institute in Martinsburg’s cancer
                comfort fund in memory of Bob Baronner, a former community leader, banker and WVU Medicine
                board director who succumbed to cancer in 2017.

                The 2019 Apple Trample 5K will feature one start time at 11 a.m. for both runners and walkers.
                The  race  start  will  be  at  the  McCormack  Center  on  the  campus  of  WVU  Medicine  Berkeley
                Medical Center.  Runners will start first immediately followed by walkers, with the finish line at
                Cobourn Field.

                Registration information may be found on line at  www.appletrample.com. Early registration by
                Oct. 9 is $25 with a t-shirt, $20 with no t-shirt.  After Oct. 9, the fee is $30 with a t-shirt, $25 with
                no t-shirt. Race day registration at The Wellness Center is from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.  The fee is $30
                with no guarantee of a t-shirt.

                Awards will be presented immediately following the race to the top three overall runners, and top
                three runners of each five year age group.  The walkers group will be timed this year, but not be
                eligible for awards.

                Leslie Crabill, chair of the Apple Trample 5K Committee and a member of the WVU Medicine East
                Foundation board of directors, is heading up the sponsor solicitation and fundraising phase of
                the race.  Sponsor levels include Elite at $5000, Ultra at $2500, Marathon at $1000, Olympic at
                $500,  Distance at $250 and Sprint at $100.
