On Nov. 5, 2017, Officers James Mose and Eric King were working beat 312R and responded to a call of shots fired at 68th Street and Cornell Drive. When the officers arrived, they heard a gunshot and observed four males running eastbound. The of- ficers then saw a male offender fall to the ground with a gun in his hand.
Officers Mose and King exited their vehicle and gave verbal commands for the offender to drop the gun. The offender then shot at the two officers multiple times. In fear for their lives, the
officers returned fire.
The offender fled but was quickly apprehended, and a 9mm
SIG was recovered from the offender. Due to the swift actions of these officers, a dangerous offender was removed from the streets of the City of Chicago.
