Horses of Ho
The 10th District welcomed its Horse of Honor on March 22 at a moving ceremony that unveiled the painted horse in remembrance of each of its fallen officers.
Commander Francis Valadez of the 10th Dis- trict spoke at the ceremony, along with Lieu- tenant Ricardo Mancha, who spearheaded the fundraising campaign with the help of Chi- cago Lodge 7 members to raise $4,000 for the tribute.
“The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (CPMF) is amazed at the amount of money raised by the 10th Dis- trict for this project and is very grateful for their efforts,” noted CPMF Project Manager John Gordon who also spoke at the dedication. “We want to give a special thanks to the men and women of the 10th District for honoring our promise to never forget.”
Patty Nolda from Combined Insurance, which offers special insurance coverage to Lodge 7 members, was also on hand to present a donation to the CPMF to support remembering Chicago’s fallen officers.
