ary, it looked like that might not happen after Alante’s mother died, leaving her without a home or family support. O cer Williams took Alante and her daughters, ages 2 years and 8 months, into her home.
“I didn’t know how Alante was going to make it. (I) didn’t want to see her on the street,” O cer Williams said. “I told Al- ante short of God taking me away from you, I’m going to be here for you.”
Football fest in 4th District
An appetite for charity
On Sept. 2, the 4th District Community Policing O cers held a “Cops and Community”  ag football tournament at Calumet Park as part of its Cops & Community Day. Participating teams were from neighboring park districts, and the winning team was from Trumbull Park.
On Aug. 4, o cers from the 18th District won the 6th Annual Pig-Out for Charity by eating more hamburgers than the chal- lenging teams from the Chicago Fire Department. It was the fourth time the 18th District team won the event in the past six years that raised money to support The 100 Club of Chicago.
