found out his 8-year-old son, Jake, had a large inoperable brain stem tumor called ganglioglioma in December 2014.
Since Jake’s diagnosis, he has been through multiple surgeries, MRIs, CT scans, extended hospital stays and he is currently under- going chemotherapy.
The Mieszala family is seeking financial assistance to cover medical bills and Lodge 7 members stepped up to help the Officer and his family.
On Nov. 8, Chicago Police Officers attended the “Just for Jake” benefit and concert for a night of raffles, auctions and fun to raise funds for the family at Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park.
