Communities give thanks for members’ service
As much as Chicago Police Officers did to support their neighbors during the Thanksgiving season, the community turned out in numerous ways to say thank you to the police who protect, serve and engage with them throughout the year.
Students from Saint Mary of the Angels dropped by the 14th District to drop off hand- made thank-you cards and lunch for the officers. The kids even posted their creative messages to the dis-
trict’s walls for everyone to enjoy.

On Thanksgiving Eve, 20th Dis- trict officers got a little boost with a pizza delivery
from one local family.
Herrera Brothers CrossCountry Mortgage came through with a taste of the holiday for the 17th District with turkey, pies and Thanksgiv-
ing wishes.
Students at Hayt Elementary School showed their appreciation to tactical officers who vis- ited as part of the 24th District’s popular Officer Friendly program.
Sweet treats of appreciation ar- rived just in time for Thanksgiving for 8th District offi- cers, thanks to a neighborhood couple who dropped off
delicious baked goods.
