can see the underlying message about how Jordan’s greatest gift was rising to the challenge. Marino saw that same greatness – again – with Chicago Police Officers on the morning of April 25.
A break-in at the dealership took place. Apparently, some kids thought there would be some cash lying around or maybe get lucky enough to find some keys left out. Within four minutes of the break-in, Chicago Police Officers were on the scene and ap- prehended all three of the perpetrators.
“It’s never-ending for these women and men, and they never put themselves first,” Marino continued. “They continue to put themselves in harm’s way. To do what first responders do, you have to be cut from a different cloth.”
Sort of like His Airness. Above and beyond Jordan’s rare air, though, Marino observes how Chicago Police Officers are deal- ing with an enemy they can’t even see and what it’s doing to the

the police, firefighters, healthcare workers and all those people keeping us safe and healthy.”
Verizon’s support of Chicago Police Officers to assist in meet- ing their challenges has included:
city. Domestic violence calls are on the rise in homes, perhaps because of excess strain from the shelter-in-place order. Plus, lack of support from the City’s administration hasn’t made the job any easier.
“They are forging that path, telling us we’re going to be safe,” he added. “They are working without a contract. They can never take a day off. But they shrug it off and go to work. Is there any- thing more American than that? If there is, let me know.”
Like much of the Chicago business community, Marino Chrysler is trying to further the legacy of giving back to the city’s first responders. That’s part of their duty, and Marino offers some final words to fulfill that mission.
“When you women and men are out there, in our hearts we’re thinking of you and praying for you every single night,” he ex- tolled. “Our appreciation goes well beyond our pocketbooks. Anything you need, any support you need, just ask. We will do whatever we can to help you.”
agencies with Verizon’s Priority Service features.
Reliable communication has also played a critical role in keep-
ing residents safe and educated, which has been vital during these unforeseen times. But Verizon might take its greatest pride in helping first responders promote societal good to manage through the pandemic.
Wood wants that message to come through loud and clear.
“We want to send a warm thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what all first responders are doing by putting their health, their lives and their family’s lives on the line to keep our society safe,” he added. “Our community needs that confidence and reassurance to provide the optimism that we will come out of this. The officers on the street are providing the confidence and optimism, and that selflessness is incredible.”
