7th District holds “Prom with a Purpose”
Officers from the 7th District CAPS domestic violence subcommittee held a “Prom with a Purpose” on April 23. They gave away formalwear including dresses, suits and accessories to teens in the Englewood community. The attire and jewelry were donated to the district by those wishing to help students who might not have been able to attend their senior prom because of the costs involved.
The district has run the event for the last several years thanks to charitable support. In addition to receiving var- ious prom items, the students also were given informa- tion about domestic violence and support resources. d
