On Feb. 25, the officers and sergeant were working Beat 1506D when they responded to a call of a man with a knife at 58th and Thomas. Upon arrival, the officers observed a man with a knife to his throat. The male was yelling that he was going to kill himself. After officers talked with the man, he su- perficially cut his throat and said, “Do I have to jump at you guys in order for you to shoot me?”
The negotiation continued for some time, but eventually the officers and sergeant were able to convince the man to drop the knife and go to the hospital.
It is with great appreciation that the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge #7 presents Officers Tone Trujillo and Thomas Zaccone and Sergeant Daniel Printz with the Life Saving Award.
