On November 25, 2016, Officers Ricky Page and Eric James were on patrol in the 11th District. While driving southbound over the expressway, they heard multiple gunshots ring out. As the officers approached Harrison Street, they ob- served a male with a gun in his hand pursuing another male. As the officers came closer to the two males, the
pursuing male raised his gun and shot the other male multiple times, fatally wounding him.
The officers stopped their vehicle, exited and or- dered the offender to drop his weapon. After refusing to drop the gun and then moving toward the officers, one of officers, fearing for his life and his partner’s, dis- charged his weapon and defeated the threat. The of- fender eventually expired from his wounds.
Due to these officers’ quick reaction, brave response and courageous actions, a dangerous murderer was removed from the streets of Chicago.
