CPMF honors four as January of cers of the month

Four Chicago police officers earned Chicago Police Memorial Foundation “Officer of the Month” recognition in January for their role in a 2016 inci- dent with an armed offender.
Officers Juan Rivera, David Benitez, Alfonso Herrera and Eugenio “Tito” Tirado not only encountered the man at a park near 18th Street and Calumet Avenue in July, but, after Benitez was shot in the leg, his three colleagues tended to his wound and transported him to the hospital.
