Crushers Club, which is using boxing to give local youth a way to stay off the streets, took to Twitter to show its appre- ciation to 7th District Lt. Mark Sedevic for sparring with its boxers to help connect with the community.
The planned Jan. 21 Women’s March turned out con- siderably larger than organizers expected, with an esti- mated 250,000 people gathering downtown.The multi- tude of of cers called upon to oversee the event were praised for their handling of things, including a letter shared by the Department on Facebook that said, in part: “I was one of the many, many people at the Wom- en’s protest yesterday. Chicago Police Department did an incredible job.The crowd was gigantic — much big- ger than predicted — and CPD was there in full force.”
