 Cops and the Community
Although it would be easy to start 2022 with an “out with the old, in with the new” approach, Chicago Police Officers began the year continuing to do what they do best — being there for the communities they serve. January provided plenty of moments to prove it, too.
     20th District
On New Year’s Day, 20th District CAPS officers were among those from several districts who joined with the St. Ignacios Church congregation to take part in the Coro Virgen de la Nube parade and statue dedication at St. Padre Pio church on North Fairfield.
Royalty stopped by the 24th District to drop off sweet treats for officers when 2022 U.S.A. National Miss Junior Illinois Princess Faith Wandji visited with doughnuts to brighten up a Tuesday afternoon.
   14th District
Thanks to the generosity of Bartoli’s Pizza, 14th District officers and the West Town Feeds organization distributed warm pizzas on a cold day to seniors and other families in need throughout the community.
The 16th District helped recognize three St. Patrick High School students for their hard work and outstanding ef- forts on a 2021 community service project.

      18th District
Whether through its “petite pantry” at district headquarters or working with partner organizations to deliver food in the neighborhoods, 18th District officers are doing all they can to help those in need have access to the basics for meals.
