Assisting the homeless in the 25th District
Affinity officers in the 25th District dropped off clear bags filled with snacks, sanitary products, toiletries and information packages to the homeless in the community on Aug. 7. The offi- cers spent time teaching them how to utilize these resources to receive the help that they need.
8th District refreshments support CPMF
Two young residents in the 8th District, Riley and Victoria, hosted a Back the Blue lemonade stand on Aug. 14. They stood on the corner of 59th Street and Merrimac Avenue with two kinds of lemonade, snacks and three posters.
One of the posters paid tribute to fallen officer Ella French and injured officer Carlos Yanez Jr., and all the proceeds from the lemonade stand were donated to the Chicago Police Memo- rial Foundation (CPMF).
