9th District holds back-to-school party
With schools across Chicago set to begin a new academic year, 9th District law enforcement officers showed their sup- port for the local school districts and their students by hosting a back-to-school party on Aug. 12. Officers set up tents and pro- vided ice cream for the hundreds of citizens who attended the event, and the day concluded with a school-supplies giveaway.
Children were seen sporting large smiles once they received their notebooks, binders, folders and calculators from the offi- cers.
