Cops and the community
With the end of summer just around the corner, Chicago Police Officers participated in community gatherings to interact and bond with the citizens they serve and protect at festivals, sports tournaments and concerts. Some of these included:
Officers from 011 partnered with local volunteers and the Anti-Cruelty So- ciety on June 24 to vaccinate nearly 70 dogs.
The 5th Annual Beyond the Badge event invited 4th District officers to join the festivities. The event’s pur- pose is to bridge the gap between the community and the Department.
Officers from the 9th District shot some hoops with neighborhood resi- dents at Davis Square before the Hoops in the Hood tournament.
Officers in 003 joined residents to walk in prayer, stopping to participate in prayer circles throughout the neighborhood.
