           Nothing impacts a Chicago Police Officer like the opportunity to help the city’s young people

Sensing an avenue to make an indelible impression on the kids in 017, officers integrated the district’s lock-up.
No, not that way.
For the Halloween party the 17th District hosted for young people in and around Albany Park in 2018, members turned the lock-up into a haunted house. The line of kids waiting to endure the haunted lock-up stretched almost out the door. When one would get spooked, it elicited the reaction made for the occasion.
“When a kid did get scared, they loved it,” noted Debbie Iza, a sergeant in the 017 CAPS office that orchestrated the event. “The feedback they gave us was, ‘This is amazing.’”
Scared straight couldn’t hold up to scared great. And here was yet another example in a fast-growing pile of amazing
