100 Club commends six officers for act of valor
Chicago Lodge 7 members Sergeant Michael Cavanaugh, O cer Michael Bunyon, O cer Ryan Krolikowski, O cer Ivan Romo, O cer Eric Wicency- jusz and O cer Michael Guzman with Chicago Lodge 7 First Vice-President Ray Casiano and 100 Club Executive Director Joe Ahern at the 36th annual Valor Awards.
The 100 Club of Chicago celebrated the 36th anniver- sary of its Valor Awards on April 26, by presenting 12 law enforcement officers and fire department personnel with Valor Awards for actions performed above and beyond the call of duty.
The 100 Club of Chicago recognized Chicago Police Officers Michael Cavanaugh, Michael Bunyon, Ryan Kro- likowski, Ivan Romo, Eric Wicencyjusz and Michael Guz- man for their lifesaving heroics on Dec. 7, 2015.
Krolikowski and Wicencyjusz were on patrol when they observed a blue sedan slam into a tree and a pole and burst into flames. When the officers radioed for help, Ca- vanaugh and members Bunyon, Romo and Guzman ar- rived on scene to assist as the heavy smoke entered the car.
All of the officers started pulling the unconscious driv- er from the front seat. As the smoke intensified and the air bags all deployed, it was impossible to see the wheth- er any other passengers were trapped inside the vehicle. Cavanaugh instructed the others to cut the airbags and search for additional passengers, finding two more un- conscious victims. The officers worked together to pull all

Interim Superintendent Eddie Johnson presented The
100 Club Award of Valor to the Chicago officers at the ban- quet at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. Honorees were presented with a 100 Club Medal of Valor, a Seiko watch donated by Marshall Pierce and Company, a Let- tuce Entertain You gift card provided by Rich Melman and a commemorative plaque.
The officers were previously recognized by the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation as the January 2015 Officers
of the Month. d
