Chicago officers Run to Remember
The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s 12th annual Run to Remember grew from 500 participants in its  rst year to 5,000 at the April 30 event.
Despite a little rain, 5,000 runners came out for Chica- go Police Memorial Foundation’s 12th annual Run to Re- member on April 30 to show their support for the families of Chicago’s fallen and injured police heroes.
Runners, including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, lined up at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park to let the families of 574 fallen Chicago officers memorial- ized on a wall near Soldier Field know their sacrifice never will be forgotten.
The fundraiser raised more than $182,000 to provide support and assistance to the families of Chicago police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty. d
