Chicago Police Department’s Honor Guard performs 24-hour vigil
The Chicago Police Memorial Foun- dation placed 574 flags at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park on April 28 to honor each Chicago police offi- cer who perished in the line of duty.
During the tribute, the Chicago Po- lice Department Honor Guard con- ducted a 24-hour vigil in remem- brance of the fallen officers, beginning one minute after midnight on April 28 and ending just before midnight the following day. Memorial flowers were placed before the monument with words “Never forget” and “Always Re- member” to ensure the families of Chi- cago’s fallen understand their loved ones’ sacrifice is never forgotten. d
