SDP CHAPTER’S COMMITTEE – WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU
The Chapter’s Committee was formed early in SDP’s history to help the SDP staff. There are five committee members who liaison between the chapters and SDP: Donna Pultz, Nancy Leeder, Paula Scrivner, Susan Herr, and Liz Voas. Your chapter will have one of these ladies as their liaison. To receive the name of your liaison, send an email to chapters@decorativepainters.org
Over the years we’ve answered many questions the chapters have had. I hope to answer a few each quarter in The Decorative Painter. We also advertise all SDP paint- ins and other items of interest to chapters on the chapter’s Facebook page, SDP: Chapter Gatherings.
First Question: The place we hold our meetings requires proof of insurance. How do we get proof?
We can help! Send an email to your liaison, list who or what company (including the company address) should be on the Certificate of Insurance (COI), your name, and chapter. We’ll take it from there. The SDP insurance carrier will send the COI directly to the certificate holder.
Second Question: We are having problems filling board positions. What should we do?
This is a very common question and a hard one to answer. We suggest a few things first, offer an incentive to be on the board. This can be paying SDP and/or chapter dues, paying for a convention, retreat or seminar, depending on the size and funds of the chapter. Another suggestion is to combine some of the board positions. Make the president and vice-president co-presidents; have the secretary be a co-president or secretary/treasurer, or have all board members help with all duties.
Is there another chapter close which you could join together to form one chapter? Feel free to email us at any time about your questions.
